Grahame Miller FCA, Partner

Grahame is Argents’ senior partner, known for his pragmatic, down-to-earth style, which sets out the tone of the practice.

His specialisms are in the agricultural and professional sectors, working for a number of the region’s farmers and growers, as well as solicitors, surveyors and architects.

Specific skills include planning for succession, inheritance tax and CGT, and dealing with sales, acquisitions, trusts and estates.  He also has extensive experience in the resolution of family and commercial disputes.  In his spare time he is a trustee of several local charities and can be occasionally seen hacking his way around a golf course.

Mark Johnstone MA, FCA, Partner

The majority of Mark’s clients are owner-managed or family-run SME’s with, in addition, a considerable number of voluntary organisations and charities, both local and national.  His time is divided between statutory audit, accountancy and tax compliance work, and providing more strategic guidance in areas such as remuneration policy and tax planning. 

Mark is responsible for all regulated work within Argents (limited company audits, registered charities, and FSA businesses) as well as being the firm’s Technical Partner.

In his spare time Mark is a keen sports fan and golfer.

Jon Spoor BSc (Hons), ACA, Partner

Specialises in the agricultural sector, managing a wide range of farming businesses where he provides ongoing management advice covering budgets, cashflows, asset finance and on many one off business decisions.   

In addition Jon has extensive experience of a variety of farming and agribusiness accounts software, particularly Key Accounts and Farmplan.  He can offer advice to clients on how to operate these systems for themselves efficiently to extract meaningful management data as well as providing accurate figures from which year end accounts can be prepared. Jon is the firm's IT partner.

Fiona Dye BSc (Hons), ACCA

Fiona has recently qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant. Her role involves supervising a portfolio of clients over a wide area of industry sectors covering sole traders, partnerships and limited companies for who she provides accountancy, tax and general business consultancy services.

Fiona has a wide knowledge of several different leading accounting software products and can provide training and support to clients on this as well as sourcing and installing the product for you.

In addition, Fiona supervises our tax department covering personal taxation, corporation tax and capital gains tax.

Out of the office Fiona is a keen gardener and enjoys arts and crafts.

Stewart Halton, MAAT

Stewart’s main responsibilities are accounts production and tax compliance work for all of our major client types – companies, partnerships and sole traders. 

In addition Stewart deals with payroll work for clients and performs our bureau work where we perform specific services which clients have out-sourced to ourselves such as VAT returns, maintaining their books and records etc. He has a good knowledge of various accounting software packages and demonstrates the use of these and trains clients on them so that their systems can work more effectively.

Stewart is one of our office First Aider’s and is a Health and Safety Representative.  He is currently studying to be a Chartered Certified Accountant. 

Away from work Stewart plays football, goes to the cinema and enjoys running.

Jane Yallop, Office Administrator

With her Executive Assistant Diploma, she is well qualified to ensure the smooth running of the office, and provide a warm greeting to clients.  Jane is our Fire Officer and is also a First Aider and Health and Safety Representative.

Out of work she helps on the family farm.

Matthew Goodfellow

Matt is currently studying for the Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification. His main area of work is accounts preparation covering all of our client types as well as processing payroll.

Out of work Matt is a keen sportsman and plays football and cricket for his local teams.

Ulanda Kovacs

Ulanda joined us in March 2008 and will be studying for the Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification from September. Accounts preparation will be Ulanda's main area of work.

In her spare time Ulanda enjoys cooking, eating out and is a keen cinema goer.

Marie Bukovska, HND

Marie was born in the Czech Republic where she attended Agriculture College. As part of her training she gained practical experience working on arable and livestock farms in the UK. Marie is therefore a welcome addition to our Agriculture team to assist with accounts preparation, budgets and management information for our farming clients.

Marie will be studying for the AAT qualification. Out of the office she enjoys walking and photography.
